How does Secret Crush Match work?

You choose male or female, type your first name and your crush's first name, and get a link. Anyone who opens it does the same. If they are your crush and they picked you, both of you see "it's a match". In every other case nobody sees anything.

Why does it ask if I am male or female?

A match is only made between a male and a female. It also stops a wrong match when a boy and a girl in your group share the same name.

Can people see who my crush is?

No. Your crush is never shown on any page, and we do not even store the name in a readable form. It only comes out if that person opens your link and picks you too.

Can I see what my friends typed?

No, and that is deliberate. If a friend does not match with you, their name and their crush are not saved at all — you only see how many people tried. A friend's name appears on your page only when it is a match.

What if my crush does not pick me?

Then nothing happens. They see "no match", you see nothing new, and neither of you learns what the other typed.

Why does it ask for first names only?

Names are matched as typed. "Ali" and "Ali Khan" would not match, so everyone using just a first name gives the best chance of a real match.

Is there anything I should know before sharing?

Yes: anyone who types your crush's name as their own and picks you will see a match, so a determined friend could find out by guessing. Each network gets only a few tries a day to make that hard, but share your link with people you trust.
